Lexington County buck was frequent trail cam visitor
Justin Hinson of Swansea, SC killed a Lexington County 10-point buck on Aug. 30, 2024 during an evening hunt from an elevated blind. It’s a deer that Hinson was quite familiar with. He’d seen many trail cam photos of the deer, and spotted it once through his scope, but didn’t have a clear shot on that occasion.
He shot the deer with a Savage 300 Blackout.
“Being a truck driver and having 2 small children, time at home is limited and time in the stand is even more limited. Buck was religiously on that stand since early August. Laid eyes on him through the scope late one evening but never could produce a shot. After disappearing for a few days from what I feel was me getting out of the stand one evening and spooking him, he showed back up on camera and I was able to capitalize the following evening,” he said.
