218-pound buck dropped in its tracks
Hunter Wood, 14-years-old from Clarkton, NC, killed a 9-point, 218-pound buck on Oct. 15, 2023 in Bladen County. He shot the deer from 100 yards away with a 6.5 Browning Creedmoor, dropping the buck where it stood.
The young hunter had observed the big deer on his trail camera leading up to opening weekend, and couldn’t wait for it to pop out of the woods while he was in his stand.
