Got ’em Scotland County 8 point Buck

My husband spotted the 8 point buck on our deer for the first time the night of 11/8. When we woke up to go hunting the next morning around 4, we checked all of our deer cameras, and he was back in there following a doe at 3:30 am. I decided to go to that stand for sure, had a good feeling he would come back out again, and he did. The doe came out on the trail from the right about 8:03 am (not on camera) leading to the cornpile.. At first, for about 5 seconds, all I could see was the doe as she walked slowly out..but I knew seeing a doe in general this time of the year, there could be a buck following her. I put my gun on fire and watched her through the scope. I saw movement through the thick woods to the right and a piece of sunlight hit his antler just enough for me to know that was a buck. He stepped out onto the trail leading to the cornpile, and that’s when I shot. He ran to the left in the thick woods, made a horseshoe turn to come back around and fell at edge of path. Total about 20 yards that he ran. We spotted blood and tracked and there he was! He was 170 lbs, and about 16 3/4 inches. So excited, and STILL on a hunting high days later! It was also interesting because I got a big 8 point exactly 5 years ago on November 9 (2019) as well! Just in time for my 50th birthday in December, what a great early birthday present!
