This was my daughter Giannas first hunt. She had been practicing with my crossbow for weeks. Opening day we got into the blind in the afternoon. We had something spook a large doe early on and I could tell she was nervous the hunt was over. She stayed committed readjusting the illuminated scope as it started getting darker. Just when we thought the hunt was coming to an end, a young 8-pointer walked out. She was shaking but calm, waited for the perfect moment and with only minutes to spare. She pulled the trigger and sent the bolt 25 yards through the deers lungs. After we let time pass. She took a flashlight and led the way through the woods following a good trail. Once home she helped me process the deer making sure we took as much meat as possible.
