My boyfriend and I were sitting on the edge of the hay field, about 200 yards from the wood line. There were several doe coming up, but this was my first deer. I wanted one with a rack.
I decided to sight in and saw this big boy coming out the wood line behind the doe. My boyfriend heard me disengage my safety, and kept trying to ask what I was going for. I quickly and quietly said “buck,” and “hush!”
I was so nervous and unstable but I inhaled a deep breath, let it out slowly and took my shot.
We found him about 60 yards from where he was shot.
