Eli has been studying the deer on our property and has put in the work and time to complete his mission of bagging a buck this year with his new 6.5 that he got for his 10th birthday last year. Had a chance on his 11th birthday a couple weeks ago but the buck never gave him a shot. Eli was in tears getting down that day but never let it keep him from coming back for more. We decided to get in the stand today after school and it started to rain on us and we both looked at each other thinking this would be a bust on a buck but 10 mins later one of the bucks he’d been eyeing finally came out and Eli dropped the hammer on him like a seasoned pro. Being there with him as his dad really was a special moment I’ll never forget!!
