Morning

I started getting some trail cam photos before bow season came in and he was keeping the same pattern. A few days before opening day he started to shed his velvet and his routine completely changed. I was finally able to lay eyes on him the last weekend of bow season where he fed within 100 yards of the stand but stayed out of range in a thick swamp bottom. On October 6th around 7:40AM I spotted a big deer coming through the trees and knew it was him. He came in pushing some does around that had been around the stand all morning. He happened to push through at about 40 yards giving me a good shot and he only went about 20 yards before piling up. This is my best buck to date and was able to share the recovery with family and a good friend.
