DOWN GOES MOOSE 🫎

Here in Franklin County NC I am a member of a dog hunting and still hunting club. We plant food plots and keep corn and blocks out regularly. At one of my stands in a small field I hunt we planted a food plot i set my camera up once the plot got on up alittle bit first of August. I saw something on this deer that looked weird like a cluster of horns in velvet. Well I didnt think much of it anymore. Well right around the mid bow season I see this deer I was amazed like wow look at this deer here. Im going to name him Moose. I told 2 or 3 buddys about him. They couldn’t believe it. They seen some deer with one palmatted side but not perfect like Moose. I new it was a matter of time before others saw him. I hunted him a few times in black powder season never saw him only had night pictures of him on camera. Then he disappeared again I figured someone else may have shot him or something. Last week my buddy called and told me he seen my Moose deer. I got excited he was still alive. We have 40 members in our club and neighbors that hunt as well. So this time of year its alot of corn piles he can go to or matter of time before we ran him with the dogs. Well the last two days we have had heavy rain and I asked a friend of mine if I could hunt his box stand to stay dry. He said yea no problem its about 400 yards in the pines from the small field I’ve seen him in. He told me that he hasn’t been down to that box stand this year. Well when I get their 30 yards from the stand is a corn pile and a cell camera. I thought to my self someone has seen something else in here or hunting that deer also. I text my buddy who’s camera and corn is this he said he had no idea. I watched a few hens eat and once they left I hit the grunt call 6 times at 530pm. At 6:15pm Moose walks out 10 yards from me. Then walks to the corn pile turns broad side eating. I had to maneuver around to get a good prop and the 7mag did the rest. Yes I had way bigger bucks on camera and have killed way bigger bucks. But this deer was different something I had never seen or hunted before and probably want never see another in my lifetime. I am very greatful to have take such a awesome deer. “Long Live Moose”
