Passed this same buck in 2023 season with high hopes he would make and turn into to something great!!! He did not disappoint!!! After placing my cams out I started get pics of him early on and was able to watch him grow at an impressive pace!! When I realized which deer it was I was so happy i chose to pass him in 2023….. Work began for him with food plot prep and stand location!!! After the stage was set it was just a waiting game!!! Opening day brought two real 8 pointers but no “Kickstand”…. My next opportunity would be on Thursday the 12th with an 8 point and a couple does showing up!!!! With no pics of him for 3 weeks I decided to take my 5 year son along on a doe hunt to a ground blind unfortunately we had no success but memories were made!!! Saturday morning hits and when iI woke up and saw my cam notifications I started to look and there he was at 7am for the first in 3 weeks and 3 days!!! I immediately called my brother and said “ He’s Back” we gotta hunt!!!! So then I got to work securing a babysitter for my kiddos because my wife works weekends!!! Once that all worked out it was hunting time. I was on the stand by 4:30 and at 6pm the woods came to life!!! Multiple deer started piling in and the very last one was the buck we named Kickstand due to his droptine!!!! It seemed like it took forever but he finally made it to 30 yards and presented a left quarter away shot and that’s when I drew back and released my first arrow out of my New Mathews Lift at a Deer!!! I heard the sound we all love to hear….”THWACK” and the plot cleared. I waited till my brother came 30 mins later and we went and checked the arrow together!!! Blood covered the arrow fro end to end!!!! We waited another 30 minutes to be sure then took up the trail only to find him a short 60 yards away!!!! Then the celebration began!!!
