On October 23rd my daughter Ava and me spur of the moment decided to go hunting because we both had a good feeling about the evening. We got in our stand around 5:30pm that evening. We got situated and began our hunt. At 6:50pm I looked down one of our lanes and seen a deer walking out. He had his head down and the raised up up. I starting tapping Ava on the leg saying “there he is babe, it’s the 8 pointer. He walked out and acted like he was going to walk the opposite way but got halfway in the lane and turned and started walking our way. Ava stood up behind her Ten Point crossbow and waited for him to get in front of us. He was 25 yards and I told her to aim just a little higher because you are use to shooting 20 yards. She said “ok daddy.” I said “whenever you’re ready and he is broad side let him have it.” I was watching out of the side window and she let the arrow fly. The knock lit up and she hit him perfect double lung. We both started celebrating and hugging each other. She had to call everybody right after to tell them she just shot an 8 pointer. We waited 20 minutes and got down, walked to where he was standing and blood was everywhere. We tracked for 50 yards and there he was. I could not have been more proud of her and her 3 year journey for her 1st Deer had finally happened and he was a nice deer. This is one proud daddy and all I hear is when are we going back daddy???
