This was my youngest daughter’s second hunt as the shooter. She had hunted for the last two years with me as an observer and Track and clean. Although she had practiced shooting extensively, she had not fired at an animal as of yet. Her first hunt the week before she was not able to acquire the deer in the scope and ultimately watched him walk away. We spent time Practicing the skill set on squirrels for the remainder of that hunt. We Bumped multiple deer on the walk into the ground blind. At about the hour mark of the sit, we had a button book eating acorns in front of us. Alice was watching this year in scope when the largest of the three bucks chased in and stopped broadside in front of her. she shot that deer after watching the good shot and his reaction and seeing him fall over the second book came in. She asked if we could shoot him as well. I was hesitant that I would be able to get the crossbow recaulked after successfully doing so she placed another , perfect shot on the second deer. Immediately after that deer was hit a third buck stepped in front of the blind. I instructed her we were not going to shoot him! Alice helped drag and clean both deer and ground a good percentage of the first one up to make Italian sausage.
