3 generations on Moore/Montgomery line

November-11-2023 was a day for our record books. We all regularly hunt together and enjoy the family tradition of hunting each Saturday and any other day when we have a chance to sit in the woods. We pass on a lot of deer and together only target a select few bucks on our property. We have been chasing a 10 point monster for several years but could never bring to fruition, but out of that atleast, he was able to breed and bring new generations of bucks to our family land. We sit several times looking for the offspring of this block of woods legend that we named the Big 10. He was a shooter last year as well but just as his father we couldn’t catch him slipping. Finally on November 5 we had a daylight pic and started hunting him hard to try and get him. We collectively passed on several nice 7 and 8 points looking for him that couple weeks and finally he showed up at 4:50 pm on Nov 11th. I was in the stand and caught a glimpse of him crossing the creek and heading out behind some doe. I grabbed my grunt call and let out a deep drawn out grunt and a quick follow up short burst that grabbed his attention and brought him right back across in front of me. I lined my up shot with my tikka 7mm rem mag and took the shot. He rolled, ran and I seen him crash and thrash until he laid still. I was so excited and thanked the lord for a chance at this buck. I called my wife, then my Father and my son and waited for them to come over to go check him out. It was an emotional and awesome experience that I’m glad I got to share with both of them. We finally got big 10 after last year of trying and this year of pursuing we finally did it. My personal best and proudest hunting memory I got to share with my family.
