3-acre tract produces trophy 8-point

8-point buck showed up on 3-acre tract

Barrett Fitch of Charleston, SC killed an 8-point buck in his home county on Sept. 6, 2024 during a morning archery hunt. Fitch was hunting from an elevated stand when he shot the deer at 25 yards. He was hunting on a very small tract of land when the deer offered him a clean shot.

It was a deer Fitch was familiar with, thanks to trail camera photos.

“I was hunting a 3-acre tract of land. I watched him for a while, then caught him slipping,” said Fitch.
