Late January woodcock hunting with my English setter “Chester” a trusty 20-gauge and a pocket full of yellow number 8s. It doesn’t get much better. That day was a cold day coming off a 2-day rain in central N.C. Perfect weather to chase upland birds behind a trusted companion. Me and a friend were lucky enough to harvest a few birds for the dinner table and go on one last hunt before ended.
