Two friends Turner aka T and Mr. Valentine aka v caught this beautiful black drum in Charleston SC. We were fishing from T/C dock and had been plagued by break off after break off fishing for these beautiful big drums around structure. On 11 June we were finally able to land one as you can tell by the excitement on our faces. T hooked up with this lap dog and the fight was on! I ran down to help and as the fish started to peel drag i quickly leaned over the dock so that I could watch the line and guide my friend away from the pylons. After some intense coaching and battling we were able to land this beauty. We had been using shrimp for bait that day so we like to call this photo “a shrimp & a prayer”.
