Braydon Jones of Pilot Mountain, NC killed an 11-point buck in Surry County, NC on Aug. 22, 2026.
He shot the buck with a Bowtech Revolt Compound Bow during a morning hunt while sitting in an elevated stand from 24 yards away.
Jones summed up the hunt with these words:
“Got in the stand on opening morning of the velvet season. After watching this buck on camera pics during the few previous weeks, I was able to determine his pattern and hung a stand between his bedding and feeding grounds. At 7:20 a.m., he came in to 24 yards and presented a perfect broadside shot. I was able to recover him less than 80 yards from my stand.”
Jones is now entered in our Bag-A-Buck Contest, and is eligible to win our monthly prize pack, which includes a set of Ultimate Eyes & Ears Combo from ShellShock Pro, a YETI Rambler bottle, a prize package from Buck Commander and Duck Commander, and a Carolina Sportsman hat, as well as our Grand Prize, a 2-day hunt for two to Cherokee Run Hunting Lodge in Chesterfield County, SC.
