Where can you find whitetail deer in North Carolina?
Just about everywhere.
Of course, some places are better than others, and the area along the Roanoke River in northeastern North Carolina has been a real deer hotspot for years. In recent years, it’s become a great place to kill a trophy buck, as well as good numbers of deer.
Learn more in the August issue of North Carolina Sportsman, which features our annual deer-hunting forecast.
The magazine has plenty to offer fishermen, too, with the monthly Saltwater Series map/GPS feature on the Neuse River, a feature on Pamlico Sound tarpon, Outer Banks white marlin and king mackerel around the reefs off Wrightsville Beach and Carolina Beach.
Bass fishermen can learn a lot about catching summertime bass from feature stories on Lake Norman and Falls of Neuse Lake, plus there’s a report on the all-tackle world-record blue catfish caught from Kerr Lake, aka Buggs Island, in June.
