SCDNR sets dates for regional Archery in Schools tournaments

SCDNR has announced dates for regional tournaments for schools participating in the Archery in Schools program.

Teams can qualify for state tournament, scheduled for March 25-26 in Sumter

The S.C. Department of Natural Resources has announced the schedule of regional tournaments for schools with Archery in Schools teams, with registration to begin in January. All teams in the National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP) must attend a regional tournament in order to qualify for the state tournament.

Regional tournaments are as follows:

* Jan. 31, 2015, Lugoff H.S., hosted by Leslie M. Stover Middle School;

* Feb. 2, 2015 – Mid-Carolina High/Middle School, Prosperity, hosted by Mid-Carolina High/Middle School.

* Feb. 6-7, 2015, J. Bryan Floyd Community Center, North Myrtle Beach, hosted by Socastee High School.

* Feb. 18, 2015, Anderson Sports & Entertainment Center, hosted by Anderson School District.

All SC Independent School Association (SCISA) schools are required to register for the Feb. 6 regional. The morning flights are set for SCISA schools only, and a 1 p.m. awards ceremony for participating SCISA schools has been scheduled.

Bass Pros in Myrtle Beach will hold an NASP IBO 3D challenge on Feb. 7, 2015 for all NASP School individuals. The team coach must register any archers wishing to participate.

The state tournament will be held March 25-26, 2015, at the Sumter County Civic Center.
