Dilsaver nominated for SKA Hall of Fame

Magazine staff member has storied career in fishing, publishing

Jerry Dilsaver, the special events coordinator for the South Carolina Sportsman magazine, has been nominated for the Southern Kingfish Association’s Hall of Fame.

Dilsaver, a 2001 SKA national champion, is one of 12 nominees for voting this month. SKA members can vote at the website, www.fishska.com. The SKA’s website credits him with helping develop the rules still used in SKA tournaments.After 10 years with the Carolina Adventure magazine, Dilsaver joined North Carolina Sportsman magazine in 2002 and his duties were expanded with the publication of South Carolina Sportsman in 2006. In his capacity with the magazine, he has organized the magazines’ fishing schools and seminars.

Dilsaver also serves in a volunteer capacity on the N.C. Marine Fisheries Commission’s Southeast Regional Advisory Committee, on the advisory board for the N.C. Division of Marine Fisheries’ saltwater fishing tournament, and on the board of directors for the Long Beach Artificial Reef Association.Other nominees include: L.A. Denzer and Rick Smith of Georgia, Joe Bruce, Clayton Kirby and Bob and Susan Woithe of Florida, Jim Davis, Tommy Howell and Jack Wood of North Carolina, Marcus Kennedy of Alabama, Ginger Shook and the late Lonnie Broadwell.
