The four anglers were booked into the Georgetown County Dentention Center
Four anglers were arrested by SCDNR officers in Georgetown County, SC on Aug. 7, 2026 for numerous alleged fishing violations.
PFC Wallace, PFC Ford and PFC Ledford observed the four fishermen gigging flounder on a vessel, and when they checked the fish, they determined the four men exceeded the flounder limit by 15 fish.
Thousands in fines
Additionally, six of those flounder were under the legal size limit. They also had one undersized sheepshead, and their vessel’s registration was expired.
The four men, Nickey Ray Gant, Trevor Austin Cox, Adam Zachary Tucker and Jordan Richardson were all booked into the Georgetown County Detention Center and charged with a number of wildlife crimes, including exceeding the catch/size limit of gamefish. Each charge carries a $1090 fine. Gant was charged with six counts, Richardson and Cox were charged with five counts each, and Tucker received four counts.
The SCDNR officers confiscated the illegal fish and donated them to the Georgetown City Fire Department. ■
