New lure series is already a big hit
Berkley released a new, revolutionary line of fishing lures this spring. It’s called Berkley Lab Series, and it combines the company’s MaxScent and PowerBait, along with a new slime, creating a proprietary blend crafted to trigger bites from fish, even those that have been heavily pressured.
The new slime, said Berkley, is a rapid-release ingredient that “provides an explosion of fish-attracting scent the moment it hits the water.”
“Lab Series is the result of a number of projects converging into one singular mission to deliver a bait to anglers that eliminates compromise,” said Nathan Ragsdale, Senior Product Manager – Freshwater Bait at Berkley. “For the first time, we’re able to combine the scent dispersion of MaxScent, the proven taste of PowerBait, and new scent activation technology in the same bait while maintaining the exact profile, action, and colors anglers demand. It allows us to approach bait designs and techniques that simply weren’t possible before.”
The multi-stage scent delivery system works both immediately and throughout the life of the bait. The slime, which begins releasing scent as soon as the bait hits the water, is created by a rapid-release powder applied at the end of the bait’s manufacturing process.
As the slime wears off, there’s no need to worry thanks to the MaxScent layers, which then take over and provide a sustained dispersion of scent throughout the life of the lure.
The PowerBait layers contain the taste that is well-known for keeping fish holding on longer, giving anglers ample opportunity to set the hook.
Available in a minnow, a flat worm, and a finesse worm, the Berkley Lab Series lures are specially packaged to protect the bait’s integrity until the first cast. Check it out at berkley-fishing.com.
