Morning

I seen the deer on camera earlier that morning at another stand of ours. I let my wife sit there and I sat at our other stand on the right of way. We were planning on getting out the stand around 830 that morning so we could get some stuff done. As I was packing up, I just happened to glance over my left shoulder and caught a glimpse of a deer slipping across the back side of the swamp that runs through our property. I picked up the binoculars and saw that it was a shooter. I took the shot and dropped him in his tracks. Little did I know the treat I was in for. I walked up to him and seen full velvet in October. Right then I knew that was odd. After getting him tagged and to the truck we realized he was a cryptorchid buck. Which means they have no testosterone. They pretty much act like a doe. The have abnormalities and never lose the velvet. After research it’s a 1 in a million chance of killing one. Taking this deer with my wife makes this hunt all the more special. A deer of a lifetime for sure.
