My daughter, Aubree Freeman, 16-years-old of Pickens, S.C., killed her first ever deer during the Zone 2 youth hunt on Sept. 11, 2021. Aubree set up in a stand of hardwoods in Anderson County where this nice 8-point buck had occasionally been spotted. The buck stepped out into the open right at sunset. Having missed a few shots in the past, Aubree remained cool as a cucumber and sent the Hornady SST 6.5 Grendel home. No tracking needed, the buck dropped right there!
