Reid Jones, killed his first deer on Wednesday, December 3rd. Reid was setup in his box stand in Southern Johnston County overlooking a soybean field. Reid’s buck came out right about 4:45 in a neighboring field and chased a doe about 200 yards into shooting range. Reid took the buck at about 60 yards with his Savage 7mm-08 rifle. The buck was a 7 pointer with 15” inside spread. Reid has hunted hard for 2 years and his patience paid off with a nice first deer. Reid’s dad, Kevin Jones (pictured) and some close friends helped get the deer out of the field and dressed out.
