Light, strong, and a joy to fish with
When I first received the 7-foot, 6-inch H20X Carbon baitcasting rod in the mail, I almost threw it away, but not because I didn’t like it. It was so light, that I didn’t realize it was even in the box, which also had a surf fishing rod inside.
The Carbon rod was hidden behind a cardboard flap. Just before tossing it in a dumpster, I decided to pull that flap back to make sure nothing was there. Good thing I did!
With a 2000-series spinning reel attached to the rod, the combo felt perfectly balanced, and it fished just as perfectly. The first fish I caught was a small bass, which put up a great fight. The rod’s light weight allowed me to feel the entire fight, while still feeling completely in control.
A few casts later, I had a bonafide 5-pound bass on the line, which put up a lively fight before admitting defeat and coming to my hand.
This rod is priced well under more well-known brands in the same class, and it performs just as well as them all, in terms of landing fish, and in terms of the enjoyment felt while casting, reeling, fighting fish, and landing them.
Crafted in four different actions and in 7-foot, 7-foot-2, and 7-foot-6 sizes, the H20X Carbon casting rod is available at your local Academy Sports and at academy.com.
