Duckfest to be held in Summerton on Oct. 22

The 2016 Inaugural Duckfest will include a duck calling contest, bass fishing tournament, a cook-off, and much more.

Fishing tournament, duck calling contest, many other activities

Clarendon County is one of South Carolina’s top destinations for waterfowl hunting, so it’s only fitting that this will be the site of the Inaugural Duckfest on Oct. 22, a celebration of duck hunting throughout the county and state.

Home to the South Carolina Waterfowl Association, Camp Woodie, several duck hunting WMAs and too many duck hunting impoundments to name, Clarendon County is the Duck Capital of South Carolina. Summerton, one of the county’s small towns, will play host to the 2016 Duckfest, which will include a bass fishing tournament, meat-style duck calling contest, a cook-off, and much more.

The Clarendon Chamber of Commerce wants to make Duckfest an annual event, and since this is the first one, you know it’s going to be an event you won’t want to miss.
