3 youth waterfowl hunts offered by Savannah NWR

The Savannah National Wildlife Refuge is offering 3 youth waterfowl hunts throughout the winter months.

Hunts are in November, December, January

Are you a youth hunter, 15 years of age or younger, looking for a waterfowl hunting opportunity? Wait no more! The Savannah National Wildlife Refuge (NWR) will host its 16th annual youth waterfowl hunt on three separate Saturdays; one in November (11/18/17), one in December (12/16/17), and one in January (1/20/18). Interested youth hunters must apply for the hunt by Sept. 30, 2017.

The hunt will be limited to a maximum of 12 youth hunters (two per blind) per day who will be selected by random drawing on Oct. 5, 2017. Applications for the drawing must be received at the Savannah Coastal Refuges Complex headquarters or postmarked by Sept. 30, 2017, and a $5.00 application fee per hunter is required at the time the application is submitted.

Savannah NWR is one of more than 560 national wildlife refuges located throughout the United States. The 31,551-acre refuge is home to large concentrations of wading birds and wintering ducks, bald eagles, neo-tropical migratory songbirds, and American alligators.
