Turkey season opens in April, closes in May for the Carolinas

With many Carolina hunters looking forward to the 2025 turkey hunting season, let’s take a look at the season dates for both states.

South Carolina opens first

Youth Season: March 29 – 30, and May 10 – 11

Private lands statewide: April 3 – May 3

WMA lands statewide: April 3 – May 3 (Some WMA lands are more restrictive than others. See Spring Turkey Seasons on WMAs for specified hunt dates).

North Carolina’s season ends later

North Carolina’s youth hunters, for those under the age of 18, get a week-long season, which takes place before the state-wide season.

Youth Season: April 5 – April 11

Statewide Season: April 12 – May 10

The above dates are for private land. Certain Game Land and WMAs have different dates, so always check the regulations booklet before planning a hunt at any of those.
