More South Carolina property closures due to Hurricane Irma

Hamilton Ridge is just one of the WMAs currently closed due to storm damage from Hurricane Irma.

Closed areas range from the Lowcountry to the Upstate

The SCDNR has updated its list of temporarily closed properties.

PROPERTY CLOSURES UPDATE: Due to persistent flooding and damage to roads caused by Hurricane Irma, the following properties will be closed until further notice.

Bear Island WMA

Botany Bay Plantation Heritage Preserve/WMA

Donnelley WMA

Hamilton Ridge WMA

SCDNR staff will be monitoring water levels and working diligently to clear and repair roads. Members of the public are advised to check the SCDNR website frequently for additional closures across the state and re-opening of closed properties.

Due to severe erosion and water on the roads caused by Hurricane Irma, the following properties are closed to vehicle access until further notice.

Lewis Ocean Bay Heritage Preserve/WMA

Waccamaw River Heritage Preserve/WMA

These roads will be open to vehicle traffic once water recedes and road repairs are made.

All roads at the following property are closed until further notice while crews work to remove debris and repair damage caused by Hurricane Irma.

Jocassee Gorges WMA

All state lakes and hatcheries are open.
