‘jonnynitro’ takes first round of 2011 Trail Cam Contest

New NorthCarolinaSportsman.com user jonnynitro won the first round of the 2011 Trail Cam Contest with his photo of a large bachelor group of bucks.

New user ‘jonnynitro’ won the August edition of the 2011 Trail Cam Contest for his photo showing a large bachelor group of bucks feeding on a pile of corn.

“In this picture, there are eight bucks,” jonnynitro wrote. “There is one that is hard to find, but he is a 7-pointer that actually has about (a) 3-inch drop tine.”

This month’s winner was chosen by site moderators from three of the best images as chosen by administrators.

Jonnynitro, who registered for the NorthCarolinaSportsman.com reports forum on Aug. 27, wins a complimentary one-year subscription to North Carolina Sportsman magazine and a $25 gift coupon to the online Sportsman Store.

His entry beat out entries by fellow site newbies woodpecker 71 and smithfieldhunter.

Woodpecker71’s trail cam snapped an image on Aug. 1 that he dubbed “lunch time” and shows a spotted fawn and a doe at a corn pile.

“(M)a ma eating corn; baby drinking milk,” Woodpecker71 wrote.

Smithfieldhunter’s entry was captured on Aug. 11, and shows two fine Johnston County bucks at a corn pile.

The Trail Cam Contest continues through Nov. 15, and is open to all registered members of the NorthCarolinaSportsman.com reports forum.
