Iredell hunter wins November Bag-A-Buck contest

An Iredell County hunter has won the November Bag-A-Buck contest with his entry of this tall, heavy 8-point buck.

Winner gets gift certificate, magazine subscription

NorthCarolinaSportsman.com user “G5 bowhunter” has won the November Bag-A-Buck contest presented by Leupold and Barnes Precision Machinery.

G5 bowhunter killed this tall, narrow 8-point buck on Nov. 9 in Iredell County and entered the contest just in time to be drawn as the monthly winner and receive a $25 gift certificate to the Sportsman Outdoor Store and a year’s subscription to North Carolina Sportsman.

“I hunted this buck hard throughout bow season,” he said. “On the first Friday morning of blackpowder season he walked out onto a open, white oak ridge. I was able to get on him as he came within 15 yards of my stand. I made the shot, and the 240-grain Hornaday bullet did its job well.

G5 bowhunter and all other entries will remain eligible for the grand prize package: a Leupold optics package (scope, binoculars and rangefinder) and a .223 Designated Marksman Rifle from Barnes Precision Machinery.  It will be presented at the Dixie Deer Classic in Raleigh this March.
