Dixie Deer Classic features big deer, hunting seminars and NorthCarolinaSportsman.com

The 30th annual Dixie Deer Classic will open its three-day run on Friday, March 5, at the North Carolina State Fairgrounds in Raleigh.

Outdoors television show celebrities Michael Waddell, and Lee and Tiffany Lakosky will be featured in seminars throughout the Classic; the NWTF’s state turkey-calling contest will be held; the state’s biggest bucks will be scored; and Quality Deer Management Association seminars will be held.

In addition, North Carolina Sportsman is offering a special prize to all sportsmen who bring their deer to be scored. The magazine will also be uploading to its website, www.NorthCarolinaSportsman.com, photos of some of the biggest deer on display, as well as videos of hunters explaining how they were successful. Be sure to visit the magazine’s booth.

Show hours are 11 a.m.-9 p.m. on Friday, March 5, 9 a.m.-7 p.m. on Saturday, March 6, and 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on Sunday, March 7. A three-day admission ticket for the show is $10.

The Jim Graham Building, the Exposition Center and Dorton Arena will house the show, which is sponsored by the Wake County Wildlife Club.
