Cape Fear QDMA Sets Golf Tourney

QDMA will hold a fund-raiser golf tournament at Crooked Creek GC at Fuquay-Varina.

During the past 12 months, the Cape Fear River Branch of the Quality Deer Management Association has contributed more than 2,800 hours of volunteer service to the Raleigh/Durham community and now is seeking some support.

The Cape Fear River group will hold a fund-raiser REACH Charity Golf Tournament Sept. 7 at Crooked Creek Golf Course at Fuquay Varina. Proceeds will benefit:

• An 8,500-acre outdoor classroom promoting handicap access and research and educational opportunities for area colleges, public schools and the general public;

• year-around Sportsmen Heritage programs for area kids who otherwise wouldn’t have an opportunity to learn practical woodsmanship skills;

• and a free-to-the-public urban deer-management program, offering guidance to manage deer and wildlife habitat at residential areas and reduce deer-vehicle collisions.

Top tournament prizes will include (but aren’t limited) to a Harley Davidson Sportster, a NASCAR Driving experience at the Jeff Gordan Driving School, a Taylor Made R7 Driver and experiencing the thrill of being a fighter pilot — dogfighting first hand in a real fighter jet. Wildlife prints, collectibles and related merchandise also will also be available.

Teams will play captain’s choice format with mulligan packages available.

Individuals or businesses can support these programs by sponsoring a hole at the tournament. They also may sponsor a team, including staff, important customers, or through a drawing sponsored by the business as a promotion.

With a $200 hole sponsorship, a business will be promoted at the event through signage and program advertising, may display product and services and will receive QDMA’s professional journal, “Quality Whitetails,” for one year. For $500 businesses may  receive these benefits and enjoy a team sponsorship, which includes 18 holes of golf with cart for four players of their choosing, unlimited beverages and a deluxe barbecue supper.

As QDMA is a non-profit 501 (c) 3 organization. The hole sponsorship is tax deductible and QDMA will provide tax receipts.

Individual player registrations also are accepted, and other program-event packages are available.

Advance registration deadline is Aug 31. Registration beyond this date will be accepted on a first-come basis, so please confirm as soon as possible by calling 919/552-9449 or by sending an e-mail: greaterthan8@yahoo.com
