Gator was more than 9 feet long
Stacey Sanders killed her first alligator on opening night of South Carolina’s 2025 gator hunting season while hunting with her husband Thomas, their son Brantley, and friend Cam Allison.
They were hunting in Georgetown when they tagged the gator, which measured 9 feet, 1 inch in length, and weighed 160 pounds.
South Carolina’s hunting season began on Sept. 13 and runs through Oct. 12 this year. Click here for more information on the season from SCDNR.
