Jamie K’s GIGANTIC Florida gator

Gator was almost 13 feet long

When Jamie Williams of Jamie K Outdoors in Fort Lawn, S.C. received a shipment of the new Hellcat series of fishing rods from Catch the Fever out of Roxboro, N.C., he decided to try one out on the biggest target he could find. And what’s bigger than a gator?

Williams headed to Florida and met up with Brian White, who had been keeping tabs on a nuisance alligator. They spotted the creature and hooked up with the beast on the Hellcat rod. After a quick fight, they got him to the boat and subdued the beast. The alligator measured 12 feet, 11 inches in length.

South Carolina’s gator season opens Sept. 11 and runs through Oct. 9. Hunting parties must have already been selected for a tag to hunt alligators in South Carolina.
