SC alligator lottery opened June 1

South Carolina’s alligator lottery applications opened on June 1 and run through July 15 for the 2024 season.

SCDNR has a new vendor handling the lottery, and said the new process allows them to streamline the application and notification schedule. It will also allow those chosen for a tag to purchase their tag immediately after the lottery is finalized, rather than having to wait until closer to the gator season.

South Carolina’s 2024 gator season opens the second Saturday of September and runs through the second Saturday of October. To apply for the lottery, and for more information on the state’s alligator hunting season, click here.
