Wilmington Boat Show starts tomorrow

Learn how to catch fall trout, and many other fishing techniques at the Fishing Expo during the 2017 Wilmington Boat Show this weekend.

Fishing Expo, on-the-water boat testing part of show

Whether you’d like to learn some fall inshore fishing techniques from local professional anglers, find out how to tie the best fishing knots, learn how to find fishing hotspots with the use of satellite imagery from the comfort of home, buy a boat, or many other boat and fishing-related activities, you can do it all this weekend at the 2017 Wilmington Boat Show.

The show will be held at the Wilmington Convention Center, with activities also taking place at Port City Marina, The Shell, and Battleship NC.

This is a show for boats of all sizes. A.K. McCallum, one of the Carolinas biggest sellers of johnboats and accessories, will have a booth. Dealers that sell inshore boats all the way up to bluewater yachts will also be on hand with brands that range from BlackJack, Carolina Skiff and Sea Pro to Beneteau and Caison Yachts.

Plenty of other vendors that don’t sell boats, but cater to boaters and anglers will also fill up much of the convention center. If you’re interested in boating or fishing, this show is one you don’t want to miss.

Bring the kids along. Bubbles and Barnacles will be on hand for face painting, and a Kiddy Bounce from the Wow Factor will be present to entertain the kids while mom and dad shop for a new boat, talk to the many vendors, or take a test ride at the marina.

We at Carolina Sportsman will be at the show too. Stop by booth 153 and see us for special subscription rates, or just to tell us your favorite hunting and fishing stories.

The show starts Friday, Sept. 8 from noon to 6 p.m., is open Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and again on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. For a full list of vendors and more details of the show, click here.
