Go fishing with SiriusXM Marine

SiriusXM Marine offers numerous plans of interest to boaters and anglers.

SiriusXM offers more than just music

When most folks hear the name SiriusXM, they think of the popular music service that offers a wide-range of music and entertainment channels. But another side of the company, SiriusXM Marine, offers much more for boaters and anglers.

While the music and entertainment offerings are certainly welcome aboard most boats, other tools, like weather, ocean current data, sea surface heights, weed line locations, and much more are essential tools that keep anglers safe, and keep them in the best fishing areas they can find. And all of that and more is available with SiriusXM Marine.

The company’s most robust marine plan is called Fish Mapping. This incredible tool shows locations recommended by oceanographers to find specific species of fish. You want tuna? It’ll tell you where to go. You want billfish? Let SiriusXM Marine show you the way. These recommendations combine data like surface temperature, subsurface temperature, concentrations of plankton, locations of floating algae and plants, wind speed/direction, lightning warnings, and much more, allowing you to map out a day of successful offshore fishing without having to waste time, fuel and energy looking in places that have less-than-ideal conditions.

And if you already have a Garmin, Furuno, SIMRAD, Raymarine, Lowrance or B&G display in your boat, all you need to add is a receiver and a SiriusXM Marine subscription to get all these features, plus a whole lot more.

No long-term plan required

Other plans include their Marine Inland plan for freshwater boaters, Marine Coastal plan for anglers along the contiguous US and Great Lakes, and their Marine Offshore plan, which is full of weather data and forecasts for boaters running up to 150 miles offshore, and throughout the Great Lakes.

No matter what type of fishing you do, and no matter what type of boat you own, SiriusXM Marine has a plan that will fit your needs. And you can even subscribe on a month-to-month basis, meaning you’re not paying for the service after your boating season ends. If you boat and/or fish year-round, you can sign up for a yearly plan, then suspend it at no charge for up to 6 months if you need to take a break for any reason.

You can also head to the West Marine store in Morehead City, NC on May 4 between 10 am and 3 pm during their SiriusXM Marine Savings Event. This event will offer a demo of their services, and anglers who use SiriusXM Marine will be on hand to discuss their experiences. You can also pick up some SiriusXM swag and learn about the company’s $300 receiver rebate, which is going on until June 30.
