Recreation Departments and NCS to Host Fall Fishing Seminars

NCS and the Recreation Departments in Greensboro, Greenville, Raleigh and Salisbury will offer a series of Fall Saltwater Fishing Seminars.

The community recreation departments in Greensboro, Greenville, Raleigh and Salisbury are joining with North Carolina Sportsman Magazine to host a series of Fall Fishing Seminars during September and October.

The seminars will combine an opening session on inshore saltwater fishing for flounder, red drum and trout, with a closing session on ocean fishing for king mackerel fishing.  A break between the sessions will be for questions, food and socializing.

The seminars are the last two Tuesdays of September and the first Tuesday and second Thursday of October.  This timing is to allow aspiring anglers time to practice what they learn before the fishing slows later in the fall.  Each seminar will begin at 6:30 and wrap up about 9:00.

There is a registration fee of $20 and space is limited.  Call 1-800-538-4355 or visit www.northcarolinasportsman.com to register.  The registration fee includes the evening’s seminar, a goody bag, door prizes, food and refreshments, a 3-month NCS Subscription and more…

The inshore sessions will be taught by the charter captains of Down East Guide Service.  Captains George Beckwith, Ray Massengill and Greg Voliva will rotate on the various dates.

The king mackerel sessions will be taught by Capt. Jerry Dilsaver.  Dilsaver is a Staff Writer for NCS, 2001 SKA National Champion, 1998 USAA Angler of the Year and July 2007 inductee into the SKA Hall of Fame.

• Tuesday, September 18, Libby Hill Seafood Restaurant, 3920 Cotswold Ave. (Cotswold at Battleground), Greensboro.
