DOUBLE B’s 70.5-pounder is top wahoo

Big wahoo wins meatfish category

The top gamefish of the 2023 Big Rock was a 70.5-pound wahoo caught by angler Greg Kuhn fishing aboard DOUBLE B. Kuhn caught this fish late on the last day of the tournament, shaking up the leaderboard.

WELDOR’S ARK finished second with a 59.7-pound fish, weighed in by angler John Roberts early in the week.

OFFSHORE OUTLAW took top honors for the dolphin category with a 67.7-pounder caught by Patrick Piner. They also caught their award-winning fish on Saturday to rattle the scoreboard late.

SKIP HOOK brought in a 59.3-pound dolphin early in the week and led most of the way, and finished second.

The Heaviest Tuna was weighed in by REEL PRIORITY, also on Saturday. Their 52.8-pound fish was reeled in by Travis Cantrell.

ODYSSEY took second place for Heaviest Tuna with a 52.5-pounder, reeled in by Matt Baxter on the final day of the event.

Junior category

Kelson Daniels won the Junior Heaviest Dolphin category, reeling in a 13.9-pound mahi while fishing aboard WASTE KNOT on Day 6 of the tournament.

Jack Bass took second place for Junior Heaviest Dolphin with an 8.2-pounder caught from FISHY BUSINESS on Day 5.

No entries were recorded for the Junior Heaviest Tuna or Junior Heaviest Wahoo during the 2023 event.
