Celebrate Hunting, Fishing and Wildlife Conservation in North Carolina

Join the N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission on Sept. 28, 2019 as we celebrate National Hunting and Fishing Day in North Carolina.  The Wildlife Commission is hosting or supporting family-oriented events that highlight our state’s extraordinary hunting and fishing heritage and remarkable wildlife conservation efforts through the years.

Interactive activities and demonstrations vary for each event, but all provide unique opportunities for participants of all ages to connect with nature and test their outdoors skills. A few of the activities include:

  • Fishing;
  • Archery;
  • Air rifle range;
  • Reptile and amphibian exhibit;
  • Raptors exhibit;
  • Tracking and game recovery;
  • And much more!

  • National Hunting and Fishing Day in North Carolina
    • Mackay Island National Wildlife Refuge, Knotts Island
    • 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
    • The Greenwing National Hunting and Fishing Day event at Mackay Island National Wildlife Refuge is $20 per participant and includes a rod and reel combo, bait, a t-shirt, Fish for Fun bags and a Greenwing membership.
  • National Hunting and Fishing Day in North Carolina: Wildlife Expo
    • Durham County Wildlife Club
    • 3616 Hopson Road, Morrisville, N.C.
    • 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • National Hunting and Fishing Day in North Carolina
    • Pisgah Center for Wildlife Education, Pisgah Forest
    • 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Richmond County Duck Unlimited/NCWRC Greenwing Fishing Event
    • McKinney Lake State Fish Hatchery, Hoffman, N.C.
    • This event will be held on Sept. 14, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
