Mobile drinkware makes great gifts for outdoorsmen

With Christmas just weeks away, you may be searching for a gift to top off that mountain of presents you’re giving your favorite outdoorsman, and one of the hottest trends for lovers of the outdoors is mobile drinkwear. And these aren’t Dixie cups we’re talking about. Any adventurer will love to get one of these from St. Nick.

GSI Outdoors Stainless Microlite 500. This vacuum bottle will keep beverages cold or hot for a full day afield, and unlike many similar bottles on the market, this one features a solid locking, pop-up cap, so if you’ve got it stowed in a pack, you don’t need to worry about leaking due to a twisted top. The rubber bottom is also a nice feature that keeps the bottle from sliding when you don’t want it to. It holds 17 ounces, but its double stainless 2mm walls are thinner than most plastic bottles, and it’s lighter than other stainless bottles of comparable size.

Looking for something even less obtrusive? Try GSI Outdoors’ Highland Fifth Flask. It holds 9 ounces of your favorite beverage, has a grommet that can be clipped on to a belt loop or backpack with a carabiner, and has a screw-on cap. It’s a soft-sided bottle with a wide mouth opening for easy filling and pouring, and when it’s empty, it can be rolled up or flattened, where it will take up little more room than a goose feather.

Re-Fuel 2-in-1 bottle/Bluetooth speaker. Don’t worry about hauling a radio to deer camp. This is a great way for an outdoorsman to enjoy fishing or hunting without missing out on the big game, or even his favorite music. You need to have water in the field, so you might as well take a speaker along when it’s attached in such a non-burdensome way.

Yeti Rambler Bottle. The double-walled, vacuum insulated bottles have secure, screw-in tops, and are available in a 36-ounce size and a 64-ounce size. Just like Yeti’s Lowballs and Tumblers, they’ll keep a drink cold (or hot) for a day’s worth of adventure. Yeti sets the standard in this category, but they aren’t the only players in town. Engel, K2, and RTIC also make similar models.
