Check black sea bass regulations

The minimum size for black sea bass (south of Hatteras) is 13 inches.

The season for black sea bass south of Cape Hatteras opened on June 1 with a minimum size limit of 12 inches and a daily creel limit of five fish. The minimum size limit increased to 13 inches on July 1.

The season will remain open until closed by proclamation when and if recreational quotas are reached.

Anglers should consult NCDMF (http://portal.ncdenr.org) for changes in sea bass seasons, size limits and bag limits before going fishing.
