Renovations to Halls Creek Boating Access Area in Elizabeth City has been completed and the boat launch is now open for public use, the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission announced Wednesday (Aug. 10).

“The renovations to this Pasquotank County site will give both boaters and anglers better, more convenient access to the Little River,” said Erik Christofferson, chief of the NCWRC’s Division of Engineering Services. “The access area has a new ramp and fixed docks, and we also made the parking ADA accessible.”

The canal was deepened to facilitate better access to the boat ramp, and the agency also added a new universally-accessible wooden boardwalk and a 10-by-20 foot fixed fishing pier.

The project was funded from the Sport Fish Restoration Program and motorboat registration receipts.
