NCWRC releases 2026 mountain trout stocking schedule

NCWRC working on compressed stocking schedule

With renovations currently still taking place at the Bobby N. Setzer Fish Hatchery, North Carolina’s freshwater trout stocking program is still doing its best to stock waters important to recreational anglers.

The agency has released its Delayed Harvest stocking schedule, which is attached below.

The Hatchery Supported stocking schedule is also available on NCWRC’s website. Thirty-three pages long, it’s more than we can share here, however, anglers can search by county and date at ncpaws.org/rsreports/fishstock/weeklystockingform.aspx.

Because of logistical problems related to the Setzer Hatchery being closed, NCWRC staff are working on a compressed stocking season.

The agency recently purchased another fish hatchery in Transylvania County, which is helping to lessen the impact of Setzer’s damage to the stocking program.
