Level I, Level II clinics are set for Pisgah Center for Wildlife Education
The N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission has scheduled two fly-tying clinics next month through the Pisgah Center for Wildlife Education near Brevard. Both clinics are free and require pre-registration on a first-come, first-serve basis. They are open to anyone ages 12 to adult.
A Level I fly-thing course will be held on Feb. 13 from 9 a.m. to noon. The class will introduce fly-tying tools, materials, patterns and tying techniques. Students will work at their own pace to tie a basic pattern. Materials and equipment will be provided.
A Level II fly-tying course will be taught Feb. 20 from 9 a.m. to noon. Students will be instructed by experienced fly-tiers to learn advanced patterns and fly-tying techniques. Materials and equipment will be provided.

The Pisgah Center for Wildlife Education is located near Brevard, just south of Asheville, alongside the Davidson River and next to the Bobby N. Setzer Fish Hatchery in Transylvania County. The center explores North Carolina’s mountain wildlife and habitats through regular programs and activities. The center also features five large aquariums representing different aquatic habitats.
