Florence angler catches new SC state record flathead

Flathead weighed 113.7 pounds

Joseph Driggers of Florence, SC caught the new South Carolina state record flathead catfish on June 10, 2026. The 113.7-pound monster shattered South Carolina’s old state record by almost 30 pounds.

Driggers was fishing in the Big Pee Dee River when he landed the fish. He had it weighed at Georgetown Landing Marina, where it was certified by SCDNR as the new state record.
