Threadgill brothers win CATT event on Badin

Jason Threadgill of Norwood combined with his brother to win the CATT Yadkin Division tournament last Saturday on Badin Lake.

Top team bags almost 18 pounds to win tournament

Scott Threadgill of Troy and Jason Threadgill of Norwood topped a field of 22 teams to win the April 27 Carolina Anglers Team Trail Yadkin Division tournament on Badin Lake

The Threadgills, always strong contenders at Badin, brought a 5-fish limit to the scales totaling 17.45 pounds and collected $800.

Winston-Salem’s Derek Tolley, fishing alone, made the contest a close one by catching a sack of fish that weighed 17.10 pounds. He earned $300.

Derek Crumbley of High Point and Calvin McCaskill of Thomasville stepped to the scales before any others, but not by design. The two anglers blew their engine. While Crumbley waited in the stranded boat for assistance, McCaskill found transportation to Circle Drive for the weigh-in. The tough-luck fishermen had 16.75 pounds to place third, winning $200.

Chris Chimiak of Winston-Salem and Scott Shannon ranked fourth with 16.35 pounds for $166.

Terry James of Wadesboro and Allen Griffin of Polkton won the big-fish prize of $154 with a 5.35-pound bass.
