Tournament raised record $517,000 for UNC Children’s Hospital
This year’s Reelin’ for Research fishing tournament was held this past weekend. It was a great day for the anglers, but most importantly, a great day for the UNC Children’s Hospital.
The Reelin’ for Research Committee was proud and humbled to be able to present the tournament’s largest check to date for $517,000 to Dr. Stuart Gold, director of hematology and oncology at the hospital. This brings the 9 year total dollars raised to over 2.4 million. The money will be used to fund research into finding new treatments, and ultimately one day, a cure for pediatric cancer.
