Wilkesboro pro finishes second in BASS Northern Open
Tracy Adams of Wilkesboro continued his strong performance on the BASS circuit with a second-place finish at the Aug. 1-3 Northern Open on Lake Oneida out of Syracuse, N.Y.
Adams weighed in 49 pounds and four ounces, falling just three pounds short of the catch of 52-7 brought in by winner Joe Bianchi of Rush, N.Y., who collected $47,412. Adams received $16,416 for his runner-up finish.
Since joining the BASS circuit in 2010, the Wilkesboro pro has amassed $152,771 in career winnings and has one victory, seven top-10 finishes, and two Bassmaster Classic invitations.
His “overnight success” began in 1996 on the FLW circuit where he fished 119 FLW tournaments, earning $556,334.
Jamey Caldwell of Carthage placed fourth at Oneida with 48-1 that paid $11,016.
